Mr. C. H. “Sonny” McGill, 81 of Poca went home to be with the Lord on August 5, 2022. Sonny is a former employee of Viscose and Avtex Fibers and retired from Kaiser Aluminum. He is an Army Veteran serving in Vietnam and was a member of Faith Independent Church, Black Betsy. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Phyllis McGill; parents Jack and Ruth Hill; son Jack Craig; grandson John Larch and son-in-law Don Larch. Sonny is survived by his children Diane and husband Gary Larch, Betty and husband Buddy Lunsford, Bill and wife Terry Craig, Debbie Larch, Donny and wife Marsha Craig and Sonny McGill, Jr.; brother Tom Hill; 20 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. A tribute to the life of Sonny will be 2:00 PM Tuesday August 9, 2022 at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Ortin Heights Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 PM Monday at the funeral home.
