<p>Carolyn Gloria (Mawyer) Ragland, 70, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at her home.</p> <p>She was born on Thursday, October 25, 1951, a daughter of the late Kermit W. Mawyer, Sr. and Samanthia (Stiltner) Mawyer.</p> <p>In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Ann Mawyer, Helen E. Thomas and Patsy L. Perryman; and two brothers, Kermit W. Mawyer, Jr. and Russell Mawyer.</p> <p>Carolyn Retired after over 20 years of service to The Monroe Institute, where she made many lifelong friends from around the world. Her home was a safe space and sanctuary for many people over the years. Everyone was welcome to any event or meal that she hosted. She never met a stranger! Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her world and she was never happier than when she had a house full of family. Carolyn will truly be missed by all that knew her.</p> <p>&nbsp;Survivors include her devoted and loving companion, Larry Snow; the father of her children, David C. Ragland, Jr.; two daughters, Wanda R. Loya and Regina A. Ragland (Chris); two sons, David C. Ragland, III. (Kim)&nbsp;and Robert Sean Ragland (Melissa); two devoted friends that she considered daughters, Darlene S. Casillas and Diana B. Rodriguez; three sisters, Sue Powell, Lillian Matheny and Pamela Freund; five brothers, John Mawyer, Allen &ldquo;Randolph&rdquo; Mawyer, George Mawyer, David Mawyer and Edward Mawyer; nine grandchildren, Rogelio A. Loya, Jose&rsquo; &ldquo;Enrique&rdquo; Loya, Miguel A. Loya, David &ldquo;Camm&rdquo; Ragland, Michael &ldquo;Shane&rdquo; Ragland, Robert S. Ragland, Jr., Savannah L. Ragland, Alexander Casillas and Sylvia Casillas; five great-grandchildren, Vanessa Loya, Charlotte Loya, Hayden Simmons, Oakley Simmons and Robert Sean Ragland, III; and lastly, her loyal fur babies, Jensen and Maycie; along with a host of extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.</p> <p>A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Rock Spring United Methodist Church in Faber, with Pastor Todd Peck Officiating. Interment will follow at the Rock Spring UMC Cemetery.</p> <p>The family will receive friends on Monday, August 8, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carolyn&rsquo;s name may be made to a charity of choice.</p> <p>Friends and family may share memories and photos at www.thackerbrothers.com.</p>

Carolyn Gloria (Mawyer) Ragland, 70, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at her home.

She was born on Thursday, October 25, 1951, a daughter of the late Kermit W. Mawyer, Sr. and Samanthia (Stiltner) Mawyer.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Ann Mawyer, Helen E. Thomas and Patsy L. Perryman; and two brothers, Kermit W. Mawyer, Jr. and Russell Mawyer.

Carolyn Retired after over 20 years of service to The Monroe Institute, where she made many lifelong friends from around the world.
