Charles E. Dawson Obituary

Charles E. Dawson, age 82, of Clarksville, passed from home to Heaven on August 6, 2022, surrounded by his family. Charles was born February 20. 1940, in McCurtain County, Oklahoma to Nick and Velma White Dawson. He was a member of the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church and National Guard. Charles was a residential and commercial building contractor for many years along with his brother, Doug “Dawson and Dawson Construction” in Clarksville and the surrounding area. He was the patriarch of the family leaving his influence on many. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory, wife of 62 years, Sandra Dawson of Clarksville; son, Chuck Dawson and wife, Crystie; and granddaughters, Laken and Landri of Blossom; daughter, Greg Dawson Cook and husband, Don of Blossom; and granddaughters, Carli McCasland of Denton and Erin Somers and husband, Nathan; great grandchildren, Benjamin and Finley of Highland Villiage; brother, Gary Dawson of Idabel, Oklahoma; sisters, Jodi Tyler and husband, Bill of Valliant, Oklahoma and Patti Pugh of Idabel, Oklahoma; a sister-in-law, Benny Fogelsong of Clarksville and numerous loved nephews and nieces along with other family members.

Funeral services are set for 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Tuggle Springs Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. There will be no formal visitation.

Pallbearers are Michael Witmer, Richard Wren, Jimmy Carson, Zackary Rose, Paul Allen, Donnie Limbock, Erich Hausler and Gary Wester.
