Elizabeth I. Skidmore (nee: Canter), 75  years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away on   Friday, August 5, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family.
 
She was born December 7, 1946 in Lorain.  Elizabeth had lived most of her life in Amherst. 
 
Her primary focus in life was that of a homemaker.  Elizabeth loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed shopping, cooking, crafts  and going to casinos.
 
Survivors include her husband of fifty-four years, Walter Skidmore; her children Christina Crum (Fiance Dean) of Amherst, Robert (Lora) Boggs of Vermilion, Melissa Skidmore and Casandra Kuchnicki (Daniel) both of Amherst; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and soon to be sixteen; her siblings Ken Canter (Sue) of Clarksfield, TN, Robert Canter (Edna) of Amherst and Donna Bruce (Jerry) of Lorain.
 
She was preceded in death by two great grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters and her parents Elijah and Lucille Canter (nee: Perry).
 
Friends may call Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 10:00 until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com .
