Jacob D. Quick, Jr., 81, of Belvidere, passed away at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY, on Wednesday August 3, 2022.

Jacob was born on November 4, 1940, to Jacob D. and Helen May (Stang) Quick, Sr. in Johnsonburg, NJ.

Jacob served in the United States Army from 1963-1965. He was a member of the Teamsters Union as a Dockworker for Local 229 until he retired in 2000. During his retirement he went on to become a bus driver for 17 years for Snyder Bus Co.

Throughout his life he spent many years bowling, hunting, and fishing. He was a social man who truly enjoyed the company of friends and family. He loved Sunday afternoons spent around the horseshoe pits with a cold beer. His farm was one of his greatest joys and accomplishments. He loved sharing it with others. He was always up for a party and enjoyed dancing to his favorite singer, Johnny Cash. His laugh will be greatly missed by many.

Jacob is predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Carol A. Quick. He is survived by his 3 children: Sondra, husband Jeff, Jeffrey, wife Laurie, and Sharon, husband Steven. He was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jacob survives his partner, Charlotte Snyder. He is also survived by his siblings: Ralph, Dave, Bill, Jim, Alice, Jean, Mary Lou, and Grace. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held Friday, August 12, from 3-5PM with a service at 5PM at Newbaker Funeral Home, Blairstown, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of Newbaker Funeral Home, Blairstown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jacob’s memory to: Knowlton Lions Club.
