John L. Perino, 89, of North Ft. Myers, FL, formerly of Deer Grove, IL died peacefully in his home on August 2, 2022. John was born April 8, 1933 in Princeton, IL the son of Ralph M. and Catherine M. (Charachita) Perino. He attended Walnut Primary School and Walnut High School. He culminated his academic achievement by attending the University of Notre Dame. After college, he served honorably in the United States Army, earning medals for exemplary service. Upon completing his military service, John settled in Deer Grove, IL. He began his career as a cattle feeder and a farmer and was a member of the National Cattleman’s Beef Association. Family was important to John and he raised a loving family of 6 children and was a member of the Catholic parishes of St. Mary's of Tampico, and St. Andrew of Rock Falls. After a long career in agriculture, John retired to Florida. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. He is survived by his children Dr. Louis J. Perino (Dr. Anna Likos), Dante B. Perino (Suzy), Angelo P. Perino (Andrea), Dr. Lisa M. Perino, and Gina Perino Noonan. In addition, John was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters survive: Elizabeth Beelendorf and Dolorosa Bender. John was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Catherine Perino; son Sylvanio L. Perino;grandson Nicholas Perino; 7 brothers and 5 sisters. A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, August 13 from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 105 N. Benton Street, Tampico, IL followed by a Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. A graveside service will at St. Mary Cemetery.
