Robert Takacs 12/25/1936 - 8/5/2022. Bob was born in Passaic; lived in Clifton moved to Middletown, NJ in 2004.  He was the son of the late Peter Takacs and Elizabeth (Boldezsar) Takacs. He was preceded in death by his wife, and love of his life, Maryann (Sautner).  

He graduated Pope Pius X11 High School.  Bob was a truck driver for Raia Industries and a steward for International Teamsters Local 560.  He retired in 1987.  Bob loved all kinds of food, frozen Manhattan’s made by the pitcher for his family, Wildwood, Cape May family vacations, crabbing, deep sea and fly fishing.  He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity R. C. church in Passaic and is currently a parishioner of The Church of Saint Catherine Laboure in North Middletown.  

He is survived by his 3 children Lisa Legath (Mark) of NC, Bobby Takacs (Cindy) of Riverdale, Doreen LaSpata (Sal) of Middletown.    His Brother Richard Takacs of Rockaway, NJ   and his sister Elizabeth Iarossi of Crofton, MD.   Bob had 5 grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Stephen, Caitlyn, Bobby Jr. and 4 great-grandchildren.  

Arrangements will be as follows:  

Viewing Tuesday 8/9/2022 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home 9 am - 10:30 am; mass service at 11:00 am at the Church of Saint Catherine Laboure in North Middletown.  

The family will conduct a private burial on Thursday, 8/11/2022.  

In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
