Joseph Michael Dripps, age 86, of Zelienople, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 while under the care of Wexford Wellness Center. Born January 29, 1936, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Joseph Dripps and Marie Hein Dripps. Joseph proudly served our country as a Marine during the Korean War. He worked as a school bus driver and was loved by all of his students. He was a highly respected driver of the girls’ lacrosse and soccer teams. He enjoyed showing his Appaloosa Stallion nationally. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing at Lake Erie. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. Joseph leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 36 years, Helen Graham Dripps; his children, Diane (Vincent) Papanu-Houpt, James (Elizabeth) Papanu, Lisa (John) Ackerman, and Charles Simeone; two daughters from a previous marriage, Lucille and Elizabeth "Betsy"; and his grandchildren, Sarah (Jeremy) Campano, Lucas Papanu-Houpt, Natalie Ackerman and Johnny Ackerman. He will also be sadly missed by his beloved pets, Jamie and Merlin. In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Boylan Funeral Home, Inc., 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, PA 16063. A funeral service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. A. David Paul, officiating. Joseph will be laid to rest at Union Dale Cemetery in Pittsburgh.
