Patricia (Mattos) Rodrigues of Leesburg, Florida went home to God in the early morning hours of Saturday August 6th surrounded by 3 generations of loving family. Born in Fall River, MA on January 6th, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Mattos. She was raised in Fall River, MA where she met her beloved husband, Richard Rodrigues. They shared the love of a lifetime - and a marriage that lasted more than 66 years. Patricia worked as a seamstress in the Fall River textile mills, and later as an administrative assistant.
Patricia loved her family above all else. She was always active, walking miles every day for years. She and her husband loved to travel, visiting many countries all around the world. Patricia enjoyed experiencing diverse cultures and collecting art. She was a talented seamstress and loved to sit down at her sewing machine to make clothes (especially her signature sundress) for herself and her family. She was a lifelong learner and avid reader.
Patricia was the matriarch of a wonderful and loving family. She was the best of us. She leaves behind her loving husband, Richard Rodrigues of Leesburg; her brother John Mattos and his wife Elaine of Bridgewater, MA; her daughters Pamela Rodrigues of Leesburg, FL; Robin Goodman of Bolton, MA; her grandchildren Kimberly Mahoney and her husband Matthew Mahoney; Melanie Carvalho and her husband Jason Graham; Richard Carvalho and his fiancé Samantha Beauvais; her great-grandsons Owen; Peter; John; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will take place on a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patricia's memory to the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization at The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)
