KEVIN L. CHRISTOFEL

 

Kevin Christofel, age 68 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, formerly of Colorado, died on Thursday, August 4, 2022.  He was born on December 7, 1953, in Homestead, Pennsylvania one of three children of Vernon Lee and Arlene Lucille (Holdsworth) Christofel.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his brother James (Denise) Christofel of Jefferson Hills and his sister Kathy (Cliff) Kosmatine of Greensburg, PA and two nieces, Kaitlyn (Scott) Poploski and Carolyn (Justin) Morgan.

 

Kevin graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School of the West Jefferson Hills School District, class of 1971; studied at Dean Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh, PA, class of 1973; then studied Law Enforcement at the Police Academy at Aims Community College in Greeley, Colorado, class of 1976.  He lived in Greeley, Colorado, working for the Windsor Police Department and later the Weld County Sheriff's Office as a Sergeant from 1975 – 1987.  When Kevin moved back to Jefferson Hills he was an Engineer for the Gill Hall Volunteer Fire Company, becoming a Life Member and most recently, was a member of the Blaine Hill Volunteer Fire Company in Elizabeth Township, PA.  He was also a member of the West Jefferson Hills Historical Society.

 

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 2 – 6 PM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, PA 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com.  His funeral service will be in the funeral home on Monday, August 8, 2022, at 10 AM with Reverend Kathy Clark of the Jefferson United Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery.
