Richard “Rich” Wayne Rolls 55 of Harrison passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Richard was born November 1, 1965 in Munising, Michigan the son of Donald and Doris (Anthony) Rolls. Rich graduated from Harrison Community Schools in 1984. Immediately following his high school graduation, Mr. Rolls enlisted in the United States Airforce and honorably served his country. After his military service, Rich began his civilian career as an Air Traffic Controller, employed with the Federal Aviation Administration until his retirement after twenty-eight years of dedicated service.
Mr. Rolls moved back to Harrison in 2014, coming from Welch, Minnesota. On September 23, 2015 in Harrison, Rich was united in marriage to Amy B. Bidoul. Mr. Rolls was active in New Beginnings Baptist Church, Harrison. Rich enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, was an avid deer hunter, recently donating some of his trophy buck mounts to Jays Sporting Goods of Gaylord, Michigan, turkey hunting, making Maple syrup from the Maple Trees on his property, mushroom hunting, bowling, traveling the United States and visiting with family and friends. Rich possessed a great love and strong bond with his dogs.
Surviving Mr. Rolls is his wife of five years, Mrs. Amy Rolls of Harrison, one daughter, Brittany Pennington(Bryant) of Cannon Falls, Minnesota, one son, Brandon Rolls (Tami) of Welch, Minnesota, mother, Doris Potter of Houghton Lake, Michigan, two sisters: Janice Rolls of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Victoria Rolls of Malabar, Florida, three brothers: Allan Rolls of Jacksonville, Florida, Tom Rolls (Barb) of Houghton Lake and Jeff (Ryan) Rolls of Beaver Creek, Ohio, step-mother, Phyllis (Chuck) Mills of Malabar, father in-law, Duane Schneider of Lake, Michigan, many nieces, nephews and his beloved dogs: Bailey, Tootsie Rolls and Bender all of Harrison. Rich was preceded in death by his father, and his best friend, Buster.
