Carmen Lynn Hughes, age 67, of Hillsdale, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022, at his home. He was born on October 16, 1954, in Hillsdale, to Carl and Wilma (Barr) Hughes. He married Dena Scott on June 7, 1995, and she survives. Carmen graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1972 and went on to work as a Corrections Officer in Jackson for many years. Carmen loved his motorcycle and enjoyed taking his bike out for a ride. He was also a big movie fan and loved to sit down and watch a new film. Carmen is survived by his wife, Dena; a son, Dan (Diana) Dubois; eight grandchildren, Harley, Megan and Shane Parker, Anna Shepard, Braydon, Aydon Hailey, and Jazzalyn Milligan; a sister, Ruth Ann (Bob) Waterberry; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, his mother and father-in-law, Chuck and Nancy Anson; and three sisters-in-law, Deb (Randy) Anderson, Kay (Walter) Hewlet, and Lisa (Mark) Belko. He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Melody Parker. A visitation for Carmen Hughes will take place on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hospice of Lenawee County.
