Larry J. Chubb Obituary

Larry J Chubb (67) Frankton, IN had angels accompany him up to Heaven on August 3, 2022 leaving behind his loving wife Leigh Ann (Richardson) Chubb of 42 years. Survivors: daughter Jennifer Chubb (fiancé Scott Morris) Son Jeremy Chubb (wife Tabatha Chubb) Grandkids: Brayden, Jacob, and Jessica. Brothers: Max Chubb, Doug Chubb, Brent Chubb and sister: Brenda Chubb, along with several nieces and nephews.  His dad; Herbert Chubb, mom; Jamie JoAnn (Rehmel) Chubb, and brother; Gary Chubb preceded him in death and were waiting to greet him when he arrived at the Pearly Gates.

Larry started his career at Eberbach Motors in Anderson. He worked as an Automotive Technician, always treating his customers with honesty and respect. He worked with some great people through the years like Jim Goodman and Ron Meister which were lifetime friends along with way too many others to list them all.

During his lifetime, he would go on family camping trips and camping with scouts, even in the cold of winter, in order for Jeremy to earn a badge. He volunteered as a Cub Scout leader, vice president of the PTA, baseball coach at the pee-wee league and helped lay down sod for the new ball field. He would spend his weekends going to Jennifer’s dance competitions willingly. At two years of age Jacob would be by Grandpa’s side learning how to check fluids on our vehicles advancing to changing the oil and changing tires.  He went on a Washington DC school trip with Jeremy as a chaperone and boys not in his group left their group to join Larry’s because he let the boys choose what interested them. We volunteered as chaperones for Jennifer’s girls High School choir to go on a cruise to Mexico. What a fun time. We always had additional kids at our house and where we went, they went with us like trips to Grissom Air Force base, camping, ball games etc. He enjoyed being involved in his kids and grandkids activities. As a family, we had joy and fun. We had seasons in the sun.

In his younger years, he would dress up as Santa and visit kids at their house leaving toys or food as needed.  He was always ready to help someone in need. We would go out to eat or to grocery and even though he was in pain and using a walker or cane to get around he would get up to open a door for someone or help them with their groceries. It’s just what he did.

You fought the fight through the pain for a little more time with your family. We could see your body was tired and worn out. The Lord also saw your suffering. It was time to send a blessing to let that body go to bring you home. He sent angels to accompany your soul to your new home in Heaven. I am missing my husband, best friend since his last peaceful breath here on earth. Love always until we meet again.
