Diane Emma Gagnon Owego, New York Obituary

Diane Emma Gagnon

Diane E. Gagnon 81, of Candor, New York passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. Diane was a person who radiated positivity in all aspects, she was her family's shining star. Diane was a loving mother and an adoring, devoted grandmother. She was always trying to help out her family in any way she could. Whether it be in trying times on an emotional level, offering heartfelt advice or during happy times, going the extra mile to craft you a special gift. She always felt a reason to do something good for this earth, feeding birds, or donating money to clean our oceans. Funnily enough that was one of her favorite things, the ocean. She loved visiting the beach and enjoying seafood along the Atlantic. This truly represents her because of her beauty and vastness in all aspects from cooking to her knowledge of history. She had a never ending flow of fun facts and could discuss almost any topic you brought up to her. She was easily one of the smartest people you would have ever met, perceptive to her last moment and always hungry to learn more. When she became lonely after the years of absence from her loving husband and the pandemic prohibiting her from seeing her family as much as she would like, she adopted her pet cat, Willy. Whom she adopted from a family as a stray barn cat. Willy will live with her daughter Jill in her passing. She may have been the most generous person you ever would have known, always fighting to pay the bill and repeatedly trying to pay people for their good deeds and small favors. All who knew her could testify to, was that when you were around her, no matter what, you felt very special and very loved, always greeted with a "Hi Honey!". In memory of Diane's loving spirit, we hope something wonderful warms your day. <br>Diane was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Alfred Gagnon; parents, Joseph and Phyllis Tracy; sister, Carol Baker; brother, John Tracy. She is survived by her children, Jillian Apgar, Paul DelloRusso, Gary DelloRusso, John DelloRusso, Kimberly and Steven Pantle, Holly and Maan Alzitoon, Nancy and Scott Jerabek; 11 grandchildren, Keith Dellorusso, Chase Dellorusso, Billy Apgar, Sarah Apgar, Haley Pantle, Elliott Gagnon, Alexander Alzitoon, Sophie Alzitoon, Andrew Jerabek, Owen Jerabek, Joseph Jerabek; siblings, Ron, Paul and Alan Tracy; several loving nieces and nephews and special family friend, Lynn Dowling. In honoring Diane's wishes, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Diane would have loved for donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in her honor.
