Jeffrey was born in Springfield, Ohio to Marcia (nee Bright) and Robert Kirkpatrick on May 23, 1949. He attended Miami University and stayed in Oxford after graduation, eventually working as an independent contractor in the area. 

He is survived by his beloved mother Marcia; his dear siblings Kathy Kirkpatrick, Diane (Lee) Hudson and Tom (Franca Malagutti) Kirkpatrick; and his niece Olivia (Rob) Hudson Cernat. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert, in 1999.
