Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation two hours prior to service time. Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery, Arcola, IL. Memorials may be made to D.M.H. Hospice.Dorothy was born November 21, 1926 in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, the daughter of Birt and Matilda (Parkhurst) Nixon. She married Dr. H. Edmund Foster in Decatur, IL on July 23, 1966. He preceded her in death on October 17, 2003.Dorothy attended schools in Hindsboro, Arcola and Joliet Junior College. She worked at Citizens Bank and retired in 1982 after 19 years with Security Savings and Loan in Decatur. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her many long time friends and family.Dorothy is survived by her brother Dan Nixon and wife Margaret of Hindsboro, IL; niece Pat McCullough and husband Philip of Woodstock, IL; nephew Mike Nixon and wife Linda of Sharpsburg, GA; niece Brenda Findley of Elwood, IL; nephew Phillip Sylvester of Elwood, IL; great nieces Karen, Kristen and Katherine McCullough; stepdaughter Linda Hansen and husband Terry of Oak Park, IL; stepson James Foster of Las Vegas, NV.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Wilma Sylvester, and stepson Robert.The family would like to give special thanks to Dorothys caregivers Sandy, Shirley, Dee, Dottie and Paula for all their care and support. Also a special thanks to the DMH Hospice Staff, especially Debbie, her nurse. "<br> }
