Patricia Jean Bearcub Ryerson, 70, Mahpíya Thó Winyan, Blue Cloud Woman, of Killeen, Texas passed away peacefully on August 2, 2022.

Pat was born in Culbertson, Montana to Archie and Loretta Bearcub on April 23, 1952, and was an enrolled member of the Fort Peck Assiniboine & Sioux Tribes. She attended Brockton High School in Brockton, Montana and graduated in 1970. She joined the United States Army in September of 1970 and served in personnel management from 1970 to 1977. She served overseas in Okinawa, Japan and then Berlin, Germany. It was in Berlin that Pat met her future husband, Richard Ryerson. Pat and Rick were married on October 1st, 1976 in Berlin. Together they had two children, Toni Comfort and Michael Ryerson.

After her military service ended in 1977, and after her daughter Toni was born, Pat worked as a Medical Transcriptionist for radiology departments at various Army Hospitals until 2009. Pat and Rick settled in Killeen, Texas where Rick retired from the United States Army. 

Pat enjoyed attending and participating in powwows and watching her daughter Toni dance. She was an avid reader and a lifetime fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Pat enjoyed traveling and visited Paris, London, Spain, New York, Washington D.C., and many other places over the years.

She is survived by her husband Richard Ryerson, her daughter Toni Comfort and her husband Mark Comfort, her son Michael Ryerson, her brother Archie Bearcub Jr., her sister Jennifer Bearcub, her nieces Lori Bearcub, Patricia Bearcub, Tracy Bearcub, and Dawn Bearcub, and her grandchildren Nicholas Comfort and Montana Comfort.

Patricia was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta Norma Blackdog, her father, Archie Bearcub Sr., her brother Louis Bearcub, her brother Mathew Bearcub.

Visitation and viewing will occur from 8:30am to 9:30am Thursday August 11, 2022 at Heritage Funeral Home in Harker Heights with the Graveside service to follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 10:00 AM.
