Melvin Orben Peel

Melvin Peel was born on April 13, 1933 in Harlingen, Texas to Ira and Mittie Peel. Melvin was an Army Veteran in the Korean War and after leaving the Army in 1955 he went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad until he retired in 1995. <br><br>Melvin enjoyed racing Go-Karts in the 1960’s and then went into racing Stock Cars in the 1970’s and 1980’s where he would always look up into the grandstands to see his wife and four daughters cheering him on, he then became the chief mechanic to his grandson Todd when he started racing BMX bicycles in the 1990’s. He enjoyed watching Nascar and was a long-time fan of the San Francisco Forty Niner’s football team. He always enjoyed being a grandpa and a great grandpa and loved spending time with all of his family.<br><br>Melvin was preceded in death by his Father and Mother Ira and Mittie Peel; Brother Bill Peel; Sister Olive Neal and Son-in-law Al Hughes. He leaves to cherish his memory, is Beloved Wife Laura Peel; Daughters Debbie Roskam and Husband Mike; Cathy Peel and Husband Rob; Connie Caldwell and Husband David; Sharon Hughes; Grandsons Todd Clinton, Nick Caldwell and Travis Henderson; Granddaughter Kristen Sutton and Husband Cory; Great Granddaughter Taylor Clinton; Great Grandsons Zachary and Chase Caldwell and Braxton and Braydon Sutton.
