Leroy O. Hulse, 82, a resident of the Forest Grove community died Friday morning, August 5, 2022, at his home. Leroy O Hulse, 82, resident of Forest Grove, peacefully died Friday morning August 5 th , 2022, at his home with his wife and children present. Leroy was born in Klamath Falls Oregon to O. Virgil and Claudia Hulse on September 14 th , 1939. He was one of four siblings, survived by sister Janette Fishback of Beaverton OR and brother Carl Hulse of Tigard OR, and preceded in death by both parents and by his sister Nancy Lee of Beaverton OR in 2020. In his early life he enjoyed working with his hands, woodworking, fishing, gardening or working on cars. Leroy served two tours of duty in the United State Navy during the early years of the Vietnam War. During his time aboard ship, he worked at a librarian and assistant to the Chaplin as well and worked with the ships baker learning general baking and cake decorating. After his time in the Navy he attended and graduated cosmology school including winning awards for his skills in hair design and working at the MarDon Salon in Portland OR. He spent many years as a postal worker in both Portland and Hillsboro Oregon and carried the first mail in ballots for the state of Oregon. From 1976 to 1979 attend Puget Sound Bible College in Seattle/Edmonds Washington, where he majored in Biblical studies which he used for teaching classes and occasional preaching during the last 40 years of his life. From 1987 to 1990 he and his wife Kathleen worked at Cookson Hills Christian Ministries in Kansas and Texas ranches as house parents for numerous displaced and troubles children that needed unconditional love and guidance. He held many shorter-term jobs over the years including working with injection foam at Techtronics, General Manager for Skippers Seafood restaurants, Bakery Manager at Waremart Foods, water delivery for Crystal Geyser Water and retail sales for a local family-owned appliance store from which he retired from. but his heart was in the ministry that was his life buy the teaching and sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is survived by his current wife Kathleen Hulse, first wife Gloria Wright, daughter Coral Zmuda and son Virgil Hulse. Grandchildren Joseph Zmuda, his wife Tamara, Mark Zmuda, his wife Jessica, Tylan Wilkinson-Hulse, and Lilli Scarborough. Great grandchildren Olivia Zmuda, Zeeta Zmuda, Ralph Zmuda and Oren Zmuda. A memorial service will be held at Singing Hills Christian Church, 3025 SE River Rd, Hillsboro, OR 97123 on Saturday September 17th , 2022 at 2pm with a reception time to follow.
