<p>WILLIAMSFIELD - Jerry L. Benson, 75, of Williamsfield, died at 3:15 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.</p> <p>Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 9 at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church with Deacon Michael Crummer officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Masonic Rites will be at 3:00 p.m. followed by his funeral service. Jerry will be transported from the church to his place of burial at Williamsfield Cemetery by his team of mules. Memorials may be directed to the Jerry Benson Memorial fund for a memorial to be established. Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield is assisting the family with arrangements.</p> <p>He was born October 7, 1946, in Galesburg, the son of Donald and Audrey (Maxwell) Benson. He married Debra L Masse on September 2, 1981, in Knoxville. She survives as do two sons, Todd (Stacey) Benson of Pekin and Terry (Cindy) Benson of Newark, IL, a step-son, Joshua Porter of Farmington, five grandchildren; Michael, Jessica, Courtney, Donovan and Jake, seven great grandchildren; Colton, Cheyenne, Waylon, Hailey, Ryan, Ava and Caelyn, two brothers, Larry Benson of Maquon, IL and Gary (Judy) Benson of Galesburg and two sisters, Mary (Larry) Isenberg of Lake Summerset, IL and Janet (Eric) Windish of Yates City. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Sharon.</p> <p>He had farmed until 1981 and then had worked at Caterpillar, W.R. Grace and Westbay Implement. He loved horseback riding and was a director for ISSHA and a member of the Maquon Masonic Lodge. He also loved his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
