Barbara Lou (Simmons) Wamsley, 86, of Hudson,NH passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 4, 2022 after an accelerated battle with kidney failure.

Barbara was the daughter of Thaddeus and Jesse Simmons and is survived by her husband, Gene Wamsley, married on December 12,1955. She was the mother of the late Jeanie Wamsley Barkley, Barbara is also survived by son-in-law John Barkley, and granddaughters Jessica Barkley Woods and wife Brenna Woods, Lara Barkley, and Heather Barkley. Barb also leaves behind a great grandchild, Simon Woods.

Barbara hailed from Elkins, West Virginia, joining her daughter and family in Hudson, New Hampshire in 2004. Barbara dedicated many years to gardening and sewing, having created countless pageant dresses while residing in West Virginia. Barbara came from a life surrounded by wilderness and animals. Barbara and her husband Gene were avid campers, exploring the east coast with their grandkids and friends in the summertime.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, Barbara wished for donations to be made to https://www.aamds.org/donate in memory of her daughter, Jeanie, who lost her battle with Aplastic Anemia in 2007.
