<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">John L. Belcher, Jr of Newark, Delaware passed away on August 3, 2022 at the age of 74.&nbsp; John loved the outdoors but his long struggle with health issues made his final years difficult.&nbsp; He passed the time by watching baseball, football, golf, hunting, fishing and old war and western movies on television.&nbsp; He was a veteran and proudly served his country in the US Army stationed in Ft. Polk, Louisiana, and then served the remainder of his military service fighting for his country in the Vietnam War (1968-69).&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">John is survived by his wife of 52 years Linda Belcher; two sons &nbsp;Christopher Belcher of Wilmington, and Gregory Belcher (Carla) of Middletown; two grandchildren Eric Belcher, who resides with his grandparents, and Emma Belcher of Middletown; three sisters Carol Voight, Billie Foraker, Sally Keys and nieces and nephews.&nbsp; John is predeceased by his parents John L Belcher, Sr. and Patricia Belcher.&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who provided care over many years for John at the Wilmington VA Medical Center, Elsmere, Delaware.&nbsp; The family would also like to thank Hospice Care at Christiana Hospital for taking care of John during his last days.&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">The service is private.&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).</span></span></p>

John L. Belcher, Jr of Newark, Delaware passed away on August 3, 2022 at the age of 74.  John loved the outdoors but his long struggle with health issues made his final years difficult.  He passed the time by watching baseball, football, golf, hunting, fishing and old war and western movies on television.  He was a veteran and proudly served his country in the US Army stationed in Ft.
