Ethel T. Mills

On Thursday, August 4, 2022, Ethel Tullie Mills, 81, of New Holland, PA, lost her fight to the complications of Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and quietly passed away at the Garden Spot Village. <br>She was a loving mother and wife, leaving behind her husband of 55 years, Edward Mills, and her two sons, Steven and Eddie, and her sweet loving King Charles Spaniel, Holly. <br>She was the daughter of Don and Pauline Tullie of Philadelphia, PA, and is survived by her two sisters and their spouses, Marcy and Donald Gajewski and Loretta and George Fragnito, plus two brothers, Albert Tullie, and Richard and Diane Tullie. Ethel graduated from Bartram High School in Phila. In 1958. Married Edward in 1967, and moved to New London, NC. From there, they soon settled in Concord and Kannapolis, NC respectively, until moving to New Holland, PA to be closer to her family and enjoy her retirement. <br>She was a devoted member of Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church in Kannapolis, NC for over 40 years. And served as chairwoman on many committees. She was especially proud of forming a community outreach group in the church called “The Seekers”, that brought together young adults for philanthropic activities that changed many lives. Ethel retired as Office Manager of the Admissions Office at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Before that she worked for Philip G. Carroll, Attorney at Law, in Concord, NC. If you ever wanted to find Ethel, you never had to look any further than her garden or fishing in the pond. Besides raising two wonderful men on 19 acres, she tended to raising cocker spaniels, goats, sheep, and chickens. But keep her away from the snakes. And always be ready for a fresh cup of coffee and great conversation. <br>She will be laid to rest at 1:30pm on Thursday, August 11, just one month shy of her 82nd Birthday, in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Fort Indiantown Gap, PA. Memorial dates are yet to be determined. <br>Contributions in Ethel’s memory may be sent to MT. Mitchell UMC, 6000 Old Salisbury Concord Rd., Kannapolis NC, 28083. The family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. She will live on forever in our hearts and minds.
