Susan Ellen Anthony Obituary

Susan Ellen (nee: Kickham) Anthony fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the age of 77. dear daughter of the late Thomas and Anne (nee: Gibson) Kickham; Beloved wife of 42 years to Paul L. Anthony; loving mother of Martha L. Anthony, Matthew T. Anthony, John R. Anthony (Rebekah) and the late Mary S. Anthony, who passed away at birth; cherished grandmother of James, Isaiah, Isabella and Savannah Walker, Jack, Xander, Caleb and Ezra Anthony; dear great grandmother of Harmony and Isaiah; loving sister of Thomas Kickham (Ruthann), Joseph Kickham (Audrey Jo) and the late Marianne Jacob and the late Terese Hugge; dear aunt, cousin and friend to many. Susan will be missed by all who knew her. During her time on this earth Susan made a positive impact on all of the lives that she touched, leaving behind a trail of goodness for so many people. Her Catholic faith was at the center of her life, leading her to love God with all her heart, to grow closer to Him through prayer and the sacraments, and to serve so many people with a generous and loving heart. In particular, she was totally devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, and extended family: she was a wife and mother with a heart full of love, and she will be very dearly missed. Susan also stood out for her cheerful, outgoing personality, always eager to be with and to talk to others. A lifelong St. Louisan, she had so many friends with whom she enjoyed spending time and talking. Her laughter was wonderful and filled the room. A graduate of Incarnate Word Academy, St. Louis University, and Lindenwood University, she had a gift and love for working with children and spent the bulk of her long teaching career at St. Norbert Catholic School in Florissant. She was also active in other parishes at different times of her life, in particular, Immaculate Conception of Dardenne and St. Theodore's in recent years. Among other volunteer activities, she did a great deal of work over the years for the Right to Life cause. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hutchens-Stygar Funeral and Cremation Center, 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Charles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Immaculate Conception Dardenne, 7701 Hwy N, Dardenne Prairie. Burial will follow at Our Lady Catholic Cemetery in Lake St. Louis. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sue to Catholic Charities, Birthright, or Masses would be appreciated.
