Martha June Pechin, 89, of Greenfield, formerly of Lafayette, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Brickyard Healthcare. Martha was born June 10, 1933 in Muncie, IN, daughter of Paul J. Holt and Dorothea (Leeper) Holt; the youngest of six children. She was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School and obtained her Associates degree in Business from Ivy Tech. On July 29, 1951 she married Robert Eugene Pechin, Jr in Lafayette, IN. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2014. Martha was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She volunteered with Epsilon Sigma Alpha and the Relief Society at her church. She loved to read, and was an avid Soap Opera watcher. Surviving are her three children: Christopher Pechin of Lafayette, Hope Leeper (Craig Prochaska) of Galena, Illinois and Heather (Ian) Myers of Indianapolis; daughter in law Karen Pechin; 13 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, Robert, she is preceded in death by her son Robert Eugene Pechin III. Memorial visitation will be held from 10am – 11am Friday, August 19, 2022 at Hippensteel Funeral Home.
