Katelyn Marie Furneaux, 36, of Lapeer, tragically died Wednesday August 3, 2022. She was born September 26, 1985 in Cocoa Beach, Florida to parents Douglas and Jeanette (Pirkl) Randlett and primarily grew up in Metamora. Kate married Richard A. Furneaux on December 19, 2015 in Lapeer. Katelyn was an EMT for Lapeer County EMS for ten years. She loved her job, along with the fact she was required to drive fast. She also helped with the Metamora Twp. Fire Department for the last five years. She even worked at the Karmanos Cancer Institute for a while. Kate was first and foremost a loving mom, wife, family member and friend. A huge part of her life was supporting the kids going to numerous baseball and volleyball games. Or just crawling in bed with her kids to watch a movie, however corny. She will be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Furneaux is survived by husband: Ricky, children: Briahna, Abbie and Aiden Furneaux, parents: Doug H. and Jeanette Randlett of Metamora, father & mother-in-law: Richard W. and Linda Furneaux of Lapeer, grandparents: Meinard and Kathleen Pirkl, siblings: Danielle (Jonathan) Jackson of FL, Douglas M. (Lexie) Randlett of Brandon Twp. as well as extended family, friends and her beloved dog, Rory. Kate was preceded in death by her grandparents: Douglas H. and Janet Randlett. Katelyn’s visitation will be 2:00-8:00pm Monday at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Her funeral will be 11:00 am Tuesday August 9, 2022 at Muirs. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 Tuesday before the service. Cremation will follow services.
