Mrs. Diane Smith passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the age of 76 years. Diane was born on August 3, 1946 in Coronation, Alberta, to Warren and Evelyn Witcomb. Diane spent her younger years South of Czar, Alberta close to the Neutral Hills. She went to many different schools growing up, including Good Luck, Little Gap, Metiskow, Czar and finally High School in Hughenden. Diane met Lloyd Smith in Provost in 1946, at a Stock Car Race. Lloyd and Diane were married on October 29, 1966 and were blessed with their son, Dennis in 1968, and daughter, Cheryl in 1970. Diane and Lloyd farmed in the Provost area until 2002, when they retired and moved to Red Deer, Alberta in 2004. Diane enjoyed genealogy and pursued her interest with the aid of better Internet service. Diane will be missed by her husband, Lloyd, her son, Dennis (Linda), her daughter, Cheryl McCabe-Smith, her three grandchildren, Cody Woodland, Jesse Woodland, and Ame (Phil) Woodland; and her three great grandchildren, Tolan Agar, Aurora Woodland, and Finley Woodland, and more to come in September. Diane will also be remembered by her brother, Larry (Sheila) Whitcomb, as well as numerous family members and dear friends.
