Ruth E. Broecker, age 94, a lifetime resident of Lapeer, passed away on August 4, 2022. She was born at home in Lapeer, MI on September 26, 1927, to the late Samuel and Cora Taylor. She proudly worked as a secretary at a local doctor’s office for 21 years and helped with the family Christmas Tree Farm in Elba Twp. When not working, she loved traveling with her husband, especially their cruise to Alaska. While traveling they made many friends, everywhere they went. Ruth was also devoted to her faith and at St. Paul Lutheran Church she taught Sunday School and helped with many other things around the church. Her world-famous fish fries and baking skills will forever be unmatched. Ruth is survived by her Son Walter C. (Kara “Dolly”) Broecker; grandchildren Jesse M. Broecker, Amber D. (Dawayne “Pudge”) Allen, Derek C. Broecker, Mitchell, and Colin; great-grandchildren Rowdy, Chase, Hadlee, Ryatt; and one great-great-grandchild that is on the way, Baby Girl Bridger. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years Creighton R. Broecker; three brothers; and three sisters. Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer on Wednesday, August 10th from 3-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Thursday, August 11th at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jared Nies will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lapeer. Memorial donations to St. Paul Lutheran Church are greatly appreciated.
