Mary Ann Casey, 90 “Aunty M” as she was fondly known as, passed away August 1, 2022 in Billings, MT. Mary was fun loving, sassy, and creative. She was also an accomplished seamstress, bean counter (accountant) and quilter extraordinaire. Mary was born in Feb. 1932 in Williston ND, the 2nd child of 6 children to Thomas and Hildegarde Delaney. She grew up in Williston on the family farm and graduated WHS in 1950. She married John (Jack) Casey in 1950 where upon they later divorced in 1970. Mary started work at JC Penny then went on to pursue a career in public accounting at Zine, LeTourneau and Hoover in 1953, where she remained for 22 years. In 1975, Mary moved to Minneapolis, MN, where she continued her accounting career for another 21 years with 19 yrs at Schweitzer, Rubin, Karon & Bremer until retiring to Dillon MT in 1996 to be near family. There she continued accounting part time for her niece at the Coast to Coast until 2002, then continued to help other businesses with their bookkeeping until the age of 77. She then went on to pursue her passions of quilting and knitting full time. Her attention to detail and color allowed her to make some beautiful quilts, earning a few fair ribbons along the way. One of her greatest joys later in life were the friends she made in her quilting and knitting groups. In 2020 she moved to Billings to be close to her family. Mary leaves behind a sister Blanche (Leonard) Schaan of Minot, ND and her special niece and God-daughter Rayanne (Bob) Schuler in Billings, MT, grand nieces Sarah (Matt) Meade in Great Falls and Karissa Nitsche in Lake Oswego, OR, along with several other nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her parents, sister Anna Winden, and brothers Henry, Thomas Jr., and Dennis (Butch) Delaney.
