<p>Ralph Raymond Baumgartner was born to Francis and Vera Baumgartner on July 28, 1942. He spent his last days on earth with his wife of 51 years and passed away at his home on the evening of Aug. 2, 2022, shortly after celebrating his 80th birthday. Ralph grew up in Harrisburg, Oregon with his sisters, Judy, Suzanne and Linda, on their family farm. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he served as a paratrooper. Ralph spent the majority of his life with his wife, Janet, and his three children, Ralph Jr., Jennifer and Jeffrey. He was employed by the city of Pendleton for over 30 years, where he eventually became the superintendent of the Water Department. Ralph was a hard worker, profound trades and craftsman. He had a vivacious spirit and enjoyed dancing and singing with friends, spending time outdoors camping, fishing, hunting and traveling. Ralph dedicated a majority of his life to serving his community through various organizations, including the Eagles and the Elks. Ralph was always an active man and enjoyed physical activity. He spent the last 20 years of his life fighting Parkinson&rsquo;s disease and was determined to maintain his mobility and health. He was a longtime member of the Roundup Athletic Club and partook in activities like tai chi, water aerobics, swimming and basketball. He loved outdoor activities like disc golf, bike riding and running. He always shared his love for physical activity with his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Ralph. He is survived by his wife, Janet; daughter, Jennifer, and her husband, Stacey, of Pendleton; his son, Jeffrey, and his wife, Kyla, of Echo; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his sisters, Judy, Suzanne and Linda; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, a reception will follow at the Pendleton Eagles Lodge. Charitable contributions on behalf of Ralph&rsquo;s life can be made to the Parkinson&rsquo;s Foundation.&nbsp;</p>
