Martha Ann King

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Martha Ann King on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022 at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, at the age of 83 years.

She leaves to mourn with many loving memories: sons: Edward, Garland (Jackie), and Joseph “Baron” (Michelle); grandchildren: Mary, Tracy, Lisa, G.J., Jacob, Vanity, Jessy, and Joelle; great grandchildren: Paris, Matthew, Brandon Jr., Lucas, Kyler, Miley, and Avery; brother Percy (Pearl) Young; and sister Carolyn Ryan; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Martha was predeceased by: husband Cecil; daughter Darlene Madore; son Manson; son-in-law Larry Madore; parents Jane and Hubert Young; brothers: Edmund, Farron, Gilbert, Edward Michael, and Richard; sisters: Mae Swyers, Kate Parsons, and Bernice Young; and great grandchild Megal Cecil King.

Following her wishes cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 5th from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 PM at Russell’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 6th at 10:00 AM from Assumption Parish, Stephenville Crossing. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic cemetery, Mattis Point.

As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Martha’s memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation NL.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Nurse Practitioner Wendy Squire, to the nursing staff at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital and to Dr. McCarthy at the Health Sciences Centre for all their compassionate care.
