Mr. Gay J. Hawkins, 89, of Oneonta, AL., passed away on August 3, 2022. Preceding him in death were his wife Mary Nell Allred Hawkins, parents Jessie Allan and Mollie Dover Hawkins; brothers Ralph Hawkins and Bill Hawkins; sisters Edna Kent, Hope Garrison and Rebecca Hawkins. He leaves behind his sons Frank Hawkins (Wanda), Steve Hawkins (Sandy) and Dale Hawkins (Dawn); daughter Ginger Wood (Tracey); ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; brother Richard Hawkins (Carolyn); sisters Dorothy Horton, Mary Lou Bates, Bobbie Jean Jackson (Don), Carolyn Dunn (Robin), Kathy Ward (Dayl) and Patricia Kelly; a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Lemley Funeral Home from 6 PM to 8 PM. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Lemley Funeral Home on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 2 PM with Randy Hale and Don Garrison presiding. Burial will be in Hoods Cemetery. Lemley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
