Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Katherine Conaty; her sister, Mary Driscoll Evans; her brother, Arthur (Tim) Conaty, Jr. and her granddaughter Kiera Rose Fitzpatrick. Cathy was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nanna. She had a vibrant personality and enjoyed entertaining friends and family, she loved a good party and a delicious meal, sunny days at the beach, afternoon cocktails, checking the surf daily, reporting the current wind direction, and a daily dose of chocolate. Throughout her life she was a member and active supporter of St. Mark Parish in Cranston and Saint Francis of Assisi Parish in Wakefield. Cathy’s other love was the coastal community of Matunuck where she spent summers until permanently retiring there 25 years ago. She was an active member of the Matunuck Community Association, Blackberry Beach Club and Willow Dell Beach Club. She was also a long-standing member of the Women’s Club in Wakefield. Our family wishes to extend a special thank you to Cathy’s devoted caregivers: Gina, Karyn, Caitlin and Heather, for their compassion and care extended to our mother. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Tuesday, August 9th at 10 a.m. in Saint Romuald Chapel, 61 Atlantic Ave., Matunuck, RI. Burial to follow in Rhode Island Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Visitation with the family will be held Monday, August 8th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Avery Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, RI. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saint Romuald Chapel of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, 114 High St., Wakefield, RI 02879.
