Henry (Hank) Habenick, 81, died peacefully in his home on July 29th, 2022. He was born October 14, 1940, in Fleshing NY, the son of Henry William and Adele (Dussel) Habenick. Henry graduated from Santa Barbara High School, Class of 1959. Following graduation, he served with the U. S. Air Force and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant after 24 years of service. In 1964 he married his beautiful wife, Kay Scroggs. They celebrated 58 years of marriage in April. Hank was a loyal member of the Association of Air Force Missileers. He also was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cottage Grove. His passion was traveling with his wife and enjoying time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy. Surviving in addition to his wife, Kay (Scroggs) Habenick, are his Daughter Kristen Suzanne Thurston and her husband Eric of Springfield, OR; Son William Eric Habenick and his wife Theresa of Triangle, VA; two granddaughters, Chelsey Habenick and Monica Liverett and her husband Daniel. A service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4 at First Presbyterian Church of Cottage Grove, 216 S 3rd St. Cottage Grove. Those who wish to remember Hank in a special way may make gifts in his memory to their favorite charity. Arrangements in the care of Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel and Crematorium in Cottage Grove, OR.
