Jo Ann Wooden Obituary
Jo Ann Wooden, age 71, of Harker Heights passed from this life during the early morning hours of Monday, August 1, 2022, at Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights. She was born in Rosston, AR on the 28th day of June 1951 to parents Monroe and Lee Anna (Jamison) Sanders.
Jo Ann was married twice throughout her life; her first husband, Clarence Gulley, and her last love George Wooden. The two marriages together brought five beautiful children into the world.
Jo Ann grew up in Rosston and attended schools there. She moved to Rockford, IL where she lived for many years. In 2001 she made her way to Harker Heights to be closer to family. Before moving to Texas, she met Howard Florence; Jo Ann and Howard have spent the last 22 years together. She attended Adams Chapel in Harker Heights. Jo Ann loved to craft, cook, and spend time with her family. She loved to visit family and host family get-togethers. She loved to travel the world with family and friends. She was always willing to lend a helping hand no matter who was in need. Her love for her family and her giving heart will be the legacy she leaves for generations to come. Jo Ann will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son Charles Jordan, grandson Tristian B. Kitt, brother Thomas Ray Sanders, sister Bonny Carter and sister Lena Sims, as well as her son-in-law Christopher Curtis.
Jo Ann leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Marian Herberts and husband Edward of AR, son Clarence Gulley of AR, daughter Delores Kitt-Curtis of MI, and daughter Keva Dudley of Harker Heights. She also leaves behind one sister Merlene Love of IL, and her sister by choice of over 60 years Margie Evan, as well as 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
