Alvin L. “Bud” Stiles, 91, of Fort Walton Beach went home to be with Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, on July 31, 2022, after bravely battling pulmonary fibrosis for over 7 years. <br><br>Bud was born on January 27, 1931, in Cadillac, MI and grew up in LeRoy, MI. A four year stint in the United States Air Force brought him to Eglin AFB. He made his home in Fort Walton Beach after falling in love with and marrying Jeanette S. McCart. They were happily married for over 62 years before she passed away in 2016. <br><br>After the Air Force, he worked at Vitro Corp as a mechanical designer. He studied at the University of Florida for two years, started a Western Auto Store in Fort Walton Beach, later a True Value Hardware, and in 1993, Stiles Outdoor Power Equipment was born.<br><br>Bud expressed that his biggest joys in life were loving his wife, Jeanette, he expressed his love in unique and creative ways throughout their marriage; and being a dad. Foremost, Bud loved Jesus and one of the ways he enjoyed living that out was by studying God’s word, praying and sharing God’s love, mercy and faithfulness, not only with his own son and daughter, but also the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade boys in Sunday School classes at First Baptist for over 45 years. As a business owner for over 68 years, Bud enjoyed running the business and appreciated his customers, as well as his faithful employees.<br><br>Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence A. and Leah Benson Stiles; sister, Helen Morris, Frances Witt and Mary Stiles; brother, Ferris Stiles; brother-in-law, Buddy Williams; sisters-in-law, Janice McCart Willams and Imolee Ciccone McCall; brother-in-law, AW McCart.<br><br>He is survived by his son, Louis (Melanie) Stiles; grandsons, Jake, Matt and Rick of Greenville, SC; daughter, Darlene (Neal) Lowery of Navarre, FL, Susan Williams of Branchburg, NJ; brother, Robert (Audrey) Stiles of Bradenton, FL; sister, Norma Jean Robinson of Reed City, MI; sisters-in-law, Tensi McCart of Winter Haven, FL and Diane Williams Prejean of Thompsons Station, TN.<br><br>A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022. The visitation will begin at 2 p.m. with the service to follow 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Fort Walton Beach.<br><br>In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Samaritans Purse/Operation Christmas Child.

Alvin L. “Bud” Stiles, 91, of Fort Walton Beach went home to be with Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, on July 31, 2022, after bravely battling pulmonary fibrosis for over 7 years.

Bud was born on January 27, 1931, in Cadillac, MI and grew up in LeRoy, MI. A four year stint in the United States Air Force brought him to Eglin AFB. He made his home in Fort Walton Beach after falling in love with and marrying Jeanette S. McCart. They were happily married for over 62 years before she passed away in 2016.
