James J. Tallman, 84, of Sandyville, WV, formerly of LeRoy, WV, passed away on September 23, 2021, at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV. He was born on September 8, 1937, in LeRoy, WV, son of the late Herbert Late and Rosa Pearl Pursley Tallman. James was employed as a laborer with Parkersburg Local Union 1085. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Willadean; children, Christopher Allen Tallman and his wife Debra Kay; Sherry Lynn Smith and her husband Garland Van; 5 grandchildren, Shawn Tallman, Joseph Thomas, Jennifer Thomas, Justin Smith, and Brock Smith; 8 great grandchildren, Rachel Tallman, Nick Tallman, Allie Tallman, Jasmine Thomas, Hevyn Thomas, Morgan Smith, Grant Smith, and Cooper Smith; and sister, Treva Cutright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother, Carroll Tallman; and 1 sister, Betty McKendrick. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in LeRoy, WV.
