Visitation Location: Roush Funeral Home Visitation Time: Saturday, March 23 (11AM-1PM) Service Location: Kanawha Memorial Gardens Service Time: Saturday, March 23 (1PM) Elijah Pete Morris, age 71 of Millwood, WV passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 20, 2019. Born August 22, 1947 in Cannelton, WV to the late Rev. Howard W. Morris, Sr., & Catherine L. (Moss) Morris. Eli was a 1965 graduate of Cedar Grove High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a seaman on the USS Dewey-DLG 14, and served during Vietnam. Eli was an electrician who retired from Constellium and was best known for his positions and strong commitment to his Union Brothers and Sisters of USWA Local 5668. He served as the locals Chairman of the Grievance Committee and other positions over his 30+ years at the plant. Eli was a committed HERO, husband, father, & grandpa to his three grandkids that he loved dearly. He enjoyed attending church, reading his BIBLE, attending car shows, especially the Charleston Rod Run & Doo Wop, and most of all spending time with his beloved wife, daughter, son-in-law and grandkids. In addition to his parents, Eli was preceded in death by four sisters, Jackie McCann, Nancy McCoy, Patsy Picarella, & Sharon McDermitt; also, his sister-in-law Nancy Morris, & brother-in-law James Picarella. Surviving in addition to his wife, Shirley (Wilkinson), is his daughter Missy Morris & husband Brian Cooper of Ripley, granddaughter, Mashaela Ratliff of Lexington, Ky, grandson Makiah Ratliff & wife, Leslie (Smith), grandson, Brandt Riggs, Brothers Wayne Morris, Howard (Slick)Morris, John Morris & wife Carolyn; brother-in-laws Clarence McCoy & Mickey McCann; and many nephews and nieces. Services will be held at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 11-1, and immediately following will be graveside services at Kanawha Memorial Gardens, Glasgow, WV, to be officiated by Pastor Bradley Goodwin. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Eli's memory to Mercy Baptist Church at P.O. Box 223, Evans, WV 25241.
