James Ray Morgan Obituary

James Ray Morgan, 62, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on August 29, 2021, at his home. James was born on June 19, 1959, in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late Evan Scott and Ernestine Maxwell Morgan. He was a 1977 graduate of Ravenswood High School and a 1983 graduate of Ohio University. He attended the First Baptist Church in Ravenswood. James was a devoted husband to Terry and an amazing father to Joshua. Terry and James met in their sophomore year of high school and married 5 years later on June 14, 1980. They celebrated 41 years of marriage this year. James retired in April of 2019. He enjoyed spending time gardening, cooking, walking, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and loved ones. He was a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan and looked forward to football season each year. James' faith and relationship with Jesus was evident in his relationships with others. Some of his greatest attributes were his selflessness, kindness, and wit. He was a man of his word and always had time for those around him. Because of his strong relationship with Jesus, his loved ones know that he is "Home" and at peace. He is survived by his spouse of 41 years, Terry; son, Joshua Morgan; brother, Scott Morgan (Jody); sisters, Patricia Morgan Carey, and Lynn Fenney (Steve); mother-in-law, Bonnie Smith (Bob Fisher); brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Shelli Smith; nephews, Jonathan, Eli, Timothy, James, and Ryan; nieces, Rachel, Stephanie, Kimberly and Leah; and many other extended family members. Friends may visit the family at Roush Funeral Home on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Condolences may be expressed to the family at roush94@yahoo.com or on our Facebook page.
