Dr. Katrina Marie Weirick, DVM
Dr. Katrina Marie Weirick, DVM, 64, of Greensboro, NC, formerly of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on June 22, 2022, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. She was born on June 19, 1958, in Kingwood, WV, daughter of the late Reverend George C. Weirick and Evelyn M. Weirick. Katrina graduated from Ravenswood High School, West Virginia University, and the University of Georgia Veterinarian School. She practiced for a few years in West Virginia and in North Carolina for the rest of her career. She was a charter member at Community Lutheran Church in Summerfield, NC. She was a weaver, spinner and naturalist dyer. She had an exhibit booth at the Mountain State Arts and Crafts Fair in Ripley for many years. She is survived by her mother, Evelyn M. Weirick of Ravenswood; brother, Martin L. Weirick (Marsha) of South Charleston, WV; sister, Reverend A. Patrice Weirick of New Haven, WV; niece, Christine Weirick of Fayetteville, WV; nephew, Andrew Weirick of South Charleston, WV; great nieces, Juniper and Ruby Jackson; great nephew, Grayson Weirick; many cousins; and an aunt and uncle, Bill and Peggy Rogers. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip M. Weirick. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Haven, WV, with Bishop Matthew Riegel officiating with Reverend Patrice Weirick assisting.
