She was born on July 31, 1929, in Jeffrey, WV, daughter of the late Ottie S. and Bertha A. Miller Conley. Virginia co-owned the Ravenswood Cleaners for 34 years, and she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 6669 in Ravenswood. She is survived by her son, Jerry Dean Burgess of Virginia; grandchildren, Teresa Cooper, Robert Burgess, Bev Southall, Mike Smith and Matt Smith; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James; children, Enga Jean and James Lee Burgess; and several brothers and sisters. Services will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at 1:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV, with Reverend Leslie Jarrell officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Sunday, July 10 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
