Helen Maxine Wyant Obituary

Helen Maxine Wyant of Ravenswood, WV passed away on February 15, 2022 at the age of 89 at Jackson General Hospital, in Ripley, WV. She was the daughter of Roy Armond and Edith Isabelle McPherson Wines. She was born on July 13, 1932. She married Harl Eugene Wyant November 27, 1949. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Harl Eugene Wyant, their sons, Roger Dale Wyant, Jerry Lee Wyant, Thomas Eugene Wyant, and their grandson, Johnathon Andrew Acree, her brothers, Charles Eugene Wines, James Roy Wines, and Larry Dean Wines. Her surviving children are James Michael Wyant and wife Lois of Ravenswood, WV, Deborah Diane Clendenin of Sandyville, WV, Jill Eileen Tripplett of Ravenswood, WV, Brenda Kay Acree and husband Phil of Ripley, WV, Joe Roy Wyant and wife Kristy of Ravenswood, WV, Allen Ray Wyant and wife Leella of Poca, WV. She has 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Surviving siblings are Monet Sue Wines Turner Stockholm of Swainsboro, GA, and Paul Robert Wines of Sandyville, WV. Helen was a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother as well as a shrewd business woman in her later years. She and husband, Gene, provided homes for many families through their rental business. Tenants would stop by just to visit them, sometimes even years after moving on to new homes. She enjoyed playing with and rocking all of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed oil painting, bird watching, and her rose garden. In her younger days, she was a member of the Happy Homemakers Club. She was a very lucky woman. After winning the drawing for the door prize so many times, her friends had her draw last, she would still win. Her best advice to the younger wives was to never go to bed angry. "Helen took care of all of us. She helped raise a whole community. None of us would be where we are, if not for her love and wisdom. She was always there when we needed her. Grandma, we love you, we miss you, and we will see you again." - Granddaughter, Luna Lindsey Rae Acree. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Ravenswood Cemetery in Ravenswood with Pastor David Johnston officiating. Friends may visit the family at the cemetery from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Condolences may be expressed to the family at roush94@yahoo.com or on our Facebook page.
