He was born on September 18, 1931, in Maynor, WV, son of the late Clarence Hamilton and Sylvia Dillon. Roger was a member of Boone Lodge 162, AF & AM in Whitesville, WV, and Scottish Rite 32nd Degree in Charleston, WV. He was an avid antique enthusiast having traveled many miles. He was a coal miner in Raleigh County. He is survived by his companion, Lillian Maxine Hughes; stepdaughters, Patti (Richard) Weaver and Peggy Holliday; step grandson, Christopher (Kristin) Longfellow; step granddaughter, Mari (Dane) Black; 4 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; 2 half- brothers, Lloyd (Mary) Jarrell and Raymond Jarrell, Sr; and half-sister-in-law, Bernice Jarrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Clay Hamilton, and a half-brother, Donald Jarrell. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019, at 2:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood with Reverend Don Maxson officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery with full Masonic Graveside Rites. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Monday, February 4, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm.
