Flora Lea Floto
Flora Lea Floto, 87, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on July 26, 2020, at her home. She was born on March 6, 1933, in Ravenswood, daughter of the late William Charles Floto and Freda Louise Theiss Carpenter. Flora Lea was a 1950 graduate of Ravenswood High School and a graduate of Marshall University in 1958. She was a teacher in Logan, Waverly, and Ravenswood for 33 years. She enjoyed going with friends to antique stores and craft stores. She was an active member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Ravenswood. Flora Lea was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by her dear friend, Gary L. Cross; nephew, Charles William Floto (Sandy); nieces, Samantha J. Doss (Lonnie), and Jennifer Merriam (Chase); 2 great nieces, Taylor and Tessa Merriam, along with other relatives and friends. Flora was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Mary Josephine McKay Theiss; 2 brothers, William John Floto and James R. Carpenter; aunts, Norma Theiss and Auga J. Theiss; and uncle, Dr. John Theiss. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at 1:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood with Pastor Karen Ritchie officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 29, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Presbyterian Church, 601 S. Ritchie Avenue, Ravenswood, WV 26164 for missions services, and Beech Grove United Methodist Church, Sandyville, WV 25275 for missions services.
