Visitation Location: Roush Funeral Home Visitation Time: Wednesday, January 16 (6-8PM) Mass Location: St. Matthew Catholic Church Mass Time: Thursday, January 17 (11AM) Ruth Newcomb, 96, of Ravenswood, formerly of New Jersey, passed away on January 12, 2019, after a long illness. She was born on February 25, 1922, in New Jersey. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was devoted to her family. Ruth was catholic by faith. She worked in Ravenswood for many years at Ravenswood Food Fair and ended her career later at Walmart at the age of 93. She was active in the community participating in numerous clubs. Ruth enjoyed traveling with the Senior Citizens Club, cross stitching, sewing, sudoku puzzles, and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. "Bill" Newcomb. She remained devoted to his memory for the rest of her life. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Newcomb Tatrai; granddaughter, Stephanie Tatrai Rhodes and her husband Roger; grandson, Wayne Tatrai of Honolulu, HI; great grandchildren, Raven, Ralphie, and Rodney Rhodes; niece, Kathleen Newcomb and nephew, Charles Compton. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by brother, George Onderdonk and his wife Addie, sister, Peggy Compton and her husband Roy; and son-in-law, Joseph Tatrai. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at 11:00 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Ravenswood with Father Pen officiating. Friends may visit the family at Roush Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with Rosary Service at 8:00 pm. Burial will follow Saturday, January 19, 2019, at St. Marys Cemetery in Trenton, NJ, at 11:00 am with Father Guido officiating. Condolences may be expressed to the family at or on Facebook at
