Visitation Location: Roush Funeral Home Visitation Time: Tuesday, January, 8 (5-7PM) Service Location: Shinnston Memorial Cemetery Service Time: Wednesday, January, 9 (12PM) Flora Ann Scallis, born October 19, 1923, in Shinnston, WV and died January 6, 2019, at Ravenswood Village in Ravenswood, WV. Flora went to school in Shinnston, worked in Detroit, MI, and then worked as an inspector for General Electric until she retired and came back to the family home in Shinnston, where she took care of her parents, Sam and Rose Scallis until their passing. She enjoyed life and all her friends in Shinnston. She helped her younger sister, Sara, who owned and operated a women and men's clothing store. As her arthritis made it hard to get around, she moved to Ravenswood, WV, and lived with her sister, Lucy for 3 years, until she couldn't walk anymore. She then moved to Ravenswood Village and had been there for over 2 years. Flo was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Shinnston, WV. Flo is going home to join her parents, Sam and Rose; sisters, Sara Scallis Campbell, Rose Scallis Rotunda; great-great niece, Erin Rose; great-great nephew, Blake Rose and brothers in law, Dominick Rotunda, Arnie Gump and Frank Romeo. Surviving are Flo's sisters, Lucy Harbert and Catherine Romeo of Ravenswood, WV, Mary Gump of Shinnston and Betty Jo Lopez of San Diego, CA; nephews, Bob (Donna) Romeo of Ravenswood, WV, Sam (Debi) Romeo of Florida; nieces, Deborah Gump of Shinnston, WV and Amanda Lopez. Also surviving are many great and great-great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, January, 8, 2019 at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV from 5:00-7:00pm. Father Pen will conduct the rosary service at 7:00pm. Graveside rites and burial will follow, Wednesday, January, 9, 2019 at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery, Shinnston, WV at 12:00pm.
