Lewis was born in Worthington, WV, the second son of Dr. O.C. and Opal Ressegger on May 25, 1929. He attended public school, graduating from Webster Springs High School in May, 1947. He graduated from Fairmont College in Fairmont, WV, in May, 1951, with a degree in Zoology. He did graduate work at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and received his Master's Degree in Biology from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. He joined the United States Air Force serving four years as a Sargent. Upon his discharge from the Air Force, he accepted a position with the Jackson County Board of Education as the Biology teacher at Ravenswood High School for the next 28 years. He considered his students as his children, therefore many became doctors, nurses, teachers, accountants, etc. He coached intramural sports. Tennis was a real joy for him to introduce the sport to many students. hair extensions uk Lewis was very active in the First United Methodist Church in Ravenswood, WV, serving as a Sunday School teacher for 18 years and served on many committees. He did taxes for the IRS at the library for anyone who needed assistance at no charge. He was a past Master Ashton Lodge #12 member since November 3, 1959; past High Priest, Jackson Chapter #48, presently Royal Arch Captain, past Commander Dowell Commandery #28, presently Prelate, a member since April 15, 1960, a member of Knights Templar Eye Foundation, member of West Virginia KYCH, 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and member of Nemesis Shrine, Parkersburg, WV. He is survived by his good friend, Gayle B. Hall and families of Ripley and Ravenswood, WV; sister, Dorothy Ressegger Green and husband Gene, of Warren, Ohio; niece, Pamela Goist and husband Dale and son, Justin, of Kinsman, Ohio; niece, Lisa Carson and husband Matt; grandniece, Katelyn; grandnephew, Zac, of Akron, Ohio; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, O.C.; mother, Opal; and brother, Bud Ressegger. Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, WV, is serving the family. Viewing will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Ravenswood. The funeral service will be held at the church on Monday, January 30, 2017, at 3:00 pm with Reverend Ken Peters officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery. There will be one hour visitation before the service. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church, 718 Flinn Street, Ravenswood, WV 26164, or Dowell Commandery #28, Royal Arch Masons, Ravenswood, WV.
