Parsons, Jr. It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald "Ronnie" Edward Furbee, announces his passing on July 19, 2017 from a courageous 5 week battle with cancer at his home with his family by his side. He was born Nov. 4, 1943. Ronnie was born with the disability of Cerebral Palsy, he never let his disability stop him from living a wonderful life. Ronnie was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Ravenswood and worked at Green Hills Country Club until he retired. Ron traveled to the Holy Land on 3 different occasions. Ronnie made more out of his life than someone without a disability. He was the best son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend that anyone could ask for. Ronnie was an avid Steelers, Pirates and Red Devil fan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Otis and June Furbee of Ravenswood, his niece, Kristy Lynn Crow and great niece, Ashley Kathleen Staats. He is survived by his sisters, Nancy Crow Phillips of Ravenswood and Beth Imperio (Dave) of Parkersburg; brother, Chuck Furbee (Connie) of Parkersburg; 18 nieces and nephews, 32 great nieces and nephews, 11 great-great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 12:00-2:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood with the service beginning at 2:00 pm., Pastor S. R. Parsons, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ravenswood Cemetery. Our family would like to express a special thanks for the wonderful care given by Tina Vincent and Kanawha Hospice and Joyce Reynolds for their wonderful help and care and all of Ronnie's Silverton friends and neighbors.
