Visitation Location: Second Baptist Church Visitation Time: Friday, August 17 (6-8PM) Celebration of Life Location: Second Baptist Church Celebration of Life Time: Saturday, August 18 (12PM) Franklin William Spradling, Sr., 81, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on August 7, 2018, at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV. He was born on September 23, 1936, in Charleston, WV, son of the late William Bill and Josephine Carson Spradling. He was in the US Army Reserve and a member of SSG 812th Ordinance in Ripley. He was a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent at Second Baptist Church in Ravenswood where he served faithfully for 55 years. He was also on the school board at Heritage Christian Academy. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corp and Ravenswood Aluminum. Frank is survived by his son, Frank Spradling, Jr.; daughters, Gina Bowers and Christina Dusenburry, all of Ravenswood; granddaughters, Amber Spradling of Middleport, OH, Ashley Spradling of Pomeroy, OH, and Martha Reynolds of Ravenswood; great grandchildren, Lucas and Pheonix Herdman of Pomeroy, OH, and Seaira Casto of Ravenswood; special daughters-in-law, Beth Reynolds of Syracuse, OH, and Carolyn Whitt of Ravenswood. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois Spradling; his parents, Bill and Josephine Spradling; and a son-in-law, Carl "Bam" Dusenburry. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 12:00 pm at Second Baptist Church in Ravenswood with Dr. S. R. Parsons, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery with full military graveside rites provided by Jackson County Honor Guard. Friends may visit the family at the church on Friday, August 17, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heritage Christian Academy, 300 Elwood Street, Ravenswood, WV 26164.
