Eunice Josephine Pinnell "Eunie", age 102, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Trinity Assisted Living in Beavercreek, OH. Eunice was born to the late Thomas and Laura Coleman on June 22, 1917 in Point Pleasant, WV. She graduated from Point Pleasant High School in 1934 where she was a star player on the basketball team. Later she became "Worthy Matron" of the Jackson County Eastern Star, attended North Ravenswood United Methodist Church and Church of the Nazarene. She also enjoyed being in a lady's dulcimer group playing for the community. She married William L. Pinnell Jr. (Bill) in 1936 and they lived together in West Virginia, predominately in Ravenswood. After Bill's death in 1999, she remained in their Ravenswood home until moving to Trinity in 2013. Eunice is survived by their three children: Bob Pinnell (wife Sally Pinnell - deceased), Dayton, OH; Brenda Skeen (husband Gary Skeen), Monroe, NC; and Burke Pinnell (wife Lezah Pinnell), Knoxville, TN. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. In addition to being a dog lover, hunting, fishing and camping were some of her favorite activities and she had a wealth of stories - the big ones didn't always get away. Growing up on the farm with five siblings, she became very skilled at gardening, sewing and delicious home cooking! Her pies are the stuff of family legend. Regrettably, due to Covid19 precautions, there will only be an "immediate family" gathering for the internment by Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, May 2, 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North United Methodist Church, PO Box 335, Ravenswood, WV 26164. Thank you to the staff and caretakers at Trinity of Beavercreek and Hospice of Miami Valley who delivered quality, genuine and heartfelt care for the last years of her life.
